Wild Work

Experience the challenges of working at a zoo in this hands-on education program. You will tackle the chores of a keeper, teach “guests” about the animals and do some real research. You will even learn veterinary responsibilities as you share in the care of one of our animals, as well as many other activities to better understand all the wild jobs in a zoo. Interview a real zookeeper and get your most curious questions about life in a zoo answered!  You’ll also get a chance to design your own exhibit. Monday through Thursday all activities will take place at the zoo, but on Friday afternoon, we’ll take a swim at the outdoor pool.

Cost: $145; Good Zoo Members take 10% off.

After 6/8/2020 a fee of $5.00 will apply.
Cancellation Policy
Payment for all programs is required at the time of registration. The zoo reserves the right to cancel any program for any reason. If the zoo cancels a program, participants will be notified by email and/or phone at least 24 hours prior to the program's start time. Participants of programs cancelled by the zoo will be given the opportunity to schedule into another open session (of equal value), apply the refund amount toward a session of a different value, or receive a full refund. The following refund policy applies to individuals wishing to cancel a Summer Education Program registration: Programs canceled 2 weeks or more from the start date will receive a full refund or scheduled into another available session (during the current year). Cancelling 7 - 13 days prior to the program will receive a 50% refund or scheduled into another available session (during the current year). No refunds will be granted for cancellations less than one week from the program's start date and the program fee is not transferable to another session.
